I LOVE MY DIFFUSER!

Aromatic Uses:  Our sense of smell influences many physiological pathways including the stimulation of hormones and other metabolic processes. Aromatherapy is founded on the body's predictable response to specific olfactory stimuli. Essential oils are widely used in aromadiffuser.jpg

I LOVE MY DIFFUSER!

I purchased my first diffuser from Whole Foods about a year ago.  Really excited to start diffusing these wonderful smelling oils was something I’d not enjoyed before. I drink them, cook with them, use them instead of over the counter drugs, and use them for perfume.  Never diffused. I was ready to have a clean smelling home, not a home that smelled like the perfume counter at Nordstroms!  I actually get an immediate headache and can “taste” those smells if I have to walk through there. Yuck.  So, I began mixing all kinds of oils. Lime and basil, Lemon and Wild Orange, Lavender and Sandalwood.  Such great combos.  Then one day...only 3 months later, the diffuser died.

Enter a Petal Diffuser from doTERRA. Then a second one. Our home smells wonderful again.  One in the living room /dining room area and one in the bedroom and I use it for my travel diffuser.  Thinking about getting # 3 so I can leave them both in place. Walking into a home that smells “fresh and natural” just makes me say “Ahhhh.!

Happy Diffusing!

Here are some of the scientific  reasons to diffuse:

Aromatic uses:  Our sense of smell influences many physiological pathways including the stimulation of hormones and other metabolic processes. Aromatherapy is founded on the body's predictable response to specific olfactory stimuli. Essential oils are widely used in aromatherapy applications. Certain essential oils, when diffused in the air, can be very stimulating while others can be calming and soothing. Beyond emotional benefits, diffusing essential oils can purify air of unwanted odors and some airborne pathogens. Low or no-heat essential oil diffusers are recommended as they do not change the chemical structure of the oil being diffused. Essential oils can also be used as cleansing and purifying additives to laundry and surface cleaners throughout the home.

INSPIRATION COMES WHEN YOU ARE QUIET

They say, love comes knocking when you least expect it.  In my case, kinda.  I was on a trial membership with Match.com. I guess that’s kinda looking. Since I’m writing today using that metaphor, let’s just go with it!  Yes, I am in Italy. Yes, it is beautiful.  And yes, most folks would love to be here for 2 weeks.  Fair enough. (giggle) I have however, like I mentioned, been here for almost 2 weeks and haven’t written one word for this blog.  Don’t most people spend loads of money for scenic “inspiration?”  They leave their jobs and families for weeks, even months to breathe in the cool air of “somewhere” that inspires them?  Not feeling it.

As our trip is coming to an end this week I am ready to come back to the comforts and familiarity of home.  I stopped thinking so hard today and just confusing my mind with so many scattered thoughts (sounds like I need some yoga) and just did nothing. Michael is working all day and night and I haven’t spoken to anyone all day. “Quiet your mind” I preach to my students in class.  I got quiet today. And because of that you are reading my post right now.

I’ve been looking for clarity in 2 places in my life.

  1. How do I stay true to my “yoga brand?” Feel Good Yoga
  2. How do I share my story and results I get on a daily basis from doTERRA essential oils?

It came to me in the silence.

essential oils/aromatherapy.
uses plant materials and aromatic plant oils including essential oils for the purpose of altering one’s mood and physical wellbeing.

yoga.
uses physical postures or asana and breath for the purpose of altering one’s mood and physical wellbeing.

I have been sharing essential oils in my yoga classes for the last 12 years.  I just never thought about it.  The only oil I even knew about was Lavender.  I put it on myself, the room always smelled and the students loved the head massage at the end of each class.  They are a natural fit.  And so the journey begins.  Feel Good Yoga & Essential Oils.  Smells so good. Join me for a class sometime. My schedule is posted on my website.

Until next time..
